She has studied singing with the soprano Elizette Bayan and concluded her singing degree at the Lisbon Higher College of Music. She’s also graduated in Business Management from the ISCTE University, Lisbon. She was awarded at the National Singing Competition Luisa Todi in 1993.
Since her first debut concert in Strasburg 1990 with the FMAC Orchestra, she has performed in several important halls and festivals through the country and abroad such as the São Carlos National Theatre; Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the Macau International Music Festival, singing with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of London, the Calouste Gulbenkian Orchestra, the Chinese National Opera Orchestra, the Portuguese Symphonic Orchestra and the Porto National Orchestra, etc.
She sings a wide repertoire from Opera (La Bohéme, Don Giovanni, Rigoletto, Carmen, Ariadne auf Naxos Rigoletto…), Operette (Die Lustige Witwe, Die Fledermaus), Oratorio (Exsultate, Jubilate - Mozart, Requiem Alemão – Brahms, Stabat Mater - Pergolesi…); Lieder (Mahler’s 4th Symphony and Rückert Lieder, Liszt’s Petrarca Sonets), to Broadway Musical (The Sound of Music, West Side Story, My Fair Lady...) and Popular Song.
Teresa Cardoso de Menezes has also performed under the direction of: Michael Zilm, Michel Corboz, Giuliano Carella, Patrick Summers, Marko Letonja, Renato Palumbo, G. Otvos, Patrick Summers, Manuel Ivo Cruz, Alvaro Cassuto, Nicholay Lalov, Leonardo Barros, and has performed with singers and artists such as Elena Obraztsova, Anna Tomowa-Sintow, Sumi Jo, Miriam Gauci, Vicenzo Bello, Thomas Moser, Eva Marton, Rao Kyao, Luis Miguel Cintra, Elizabette Matos, João Paulo Santos, Nicholas Mc Nair, António Rosado etc.
Beyond the recordings for the RDP - Portuguese Broadcasting Co. in live concerts, she has also recorded 4 CDs: in 2000 the Opera Arias CD Je veux vivre and in 2002 the Sacred Arias CD Alleluia with the Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra, the Voces Caelestes Choir and Maestro Manuel Ivo Cruz. There she sings a wide repertoire, showing both vocal and dramatic versatility covering from the Baroque to Contemporary period.
The CD Alleluia was acclaimed by the Portuguese press as the Third Best Classical Recording from 2002, from Expresso Newspaper (2003.4.4, L.Leidfarb) where it refers:
“She sings very well, it must be said, and she sings all kind of music, moving between different genres without fear of contrast or excess (…)”.
In 2007 she recorded her 3rd CD Upon a Star – Enchanted Songs in Duo with Harp (Andreia Marques), that deserved the Rui Vieira Nery (from Gulbenkian Foundation) following appreciation:

In 2017 for the Fátima’s Centenary she recorded Mater Dei - Sacred Arias, full dedicated to the Holy Mother Mary.
